Android Codepad

Android CodePad is a simple source code viewer that supports syntax highlighting.

it supports all C-like, Bash-like, and XML-like languages. it automatically selects the syntax depending on the file.

Android CodePad uses WebKit and google-code-prettify to do the syntax highlighting.

You can get the application in the market by searching for "Android Codepad", download the file directly in the google code project page or scanning the following QR Code:

The project its open source, if you want to contribute to the project, you're free to do it, right now is hosted on google code: http://code.google.com/p/android-codepad/ and its released under the Apache License 2.0 (that reminds me that i need to add the license in the source directory).
I noticed older versions of the android platform used to have the emulateShiftHeld() function to select and copy text to the clipboard on the webview control.

i came up with this version of emulateShiftHeld():

    /**
     * Select Text in the webview and automatically sends the selected text to the clipboard
     */
    public void selectAndCopyText() {
        try {
         KeyEvent shiftPressEvent = new KeyEvent(0,0,KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN,KeyEvent.KEYCODE_SHIFT_LEFT,0,0);
         shiftPressEvent.dispatch(mWebView);
        } catch (Exception e) {
            throw new AssertionError(e);
        }
    }

Hope someone finds it useful.
After a lot of time of taking knowledge from other guys blogs i made the decision to give something back to the programmers  community. I hope that writing this blog also improves my English writing skills (cause right now i suck at writing serious stuff).

On the other hand, i will post followings of some of the works im going to open source soon, mostly android and java stuff.

I  will post mostly code and examples, with the occasional link to an interesting article, like the one that convinced me to start blogging for example: http://www.cforcoding.com/2009/06/starting-programming-blog.html

By the way, for those visiting the blog via android market, im going to open source Android CodePad really soon, i just need get some time to clean some mess in the code  (my work always comes first).
